30 East Move In Checklist
August is typically the dog days of summer, a time to relax and soak up the final days of summer. But here at 30 East Apartments, move in day is August 17th, which marks the start of your Chicago journey with us. Moving can be stressful, and the city can seem overwhelming, so we are here to help you not only enjoy the process but handle it like a local.
1. Target Run - While you won't need to bring a coffee table to your fully-furnished unit here, you'll still need all the essentials that go with maintaining a sparkling clean-living space! A big Target run (there's a location less than a mile from us!) is crucial to securing all those last-minute cleaning and decoration products that almost slipped your mind. Essentials you may need: Bedding, Toiletries...
2. Grocery stock-up– You'll need to stock your new in-unit refrigerator with all your favorite treats. With all the best grocery stores at your disposal – Trader Joes, Jewel-Osco, and Whole Foods are all within one mile of our building - you've got an excuse to get all the goods. Buy your favorite snacks and staples in bulk – the less you’ll have to leave your apartment, the better!
3. Tech haul- Since you’ve got a TV and all the basic kitchen appliances in your unit, no need to splurge on a new flat screen. But what about the smaller things you might be neglecting? Trust us, you’ll want to stock up on HDMI cables and rechargeable batteries beforethe first big snowstorm hits. Target will have some of your tech necessities, and there’s also a Best Buy close by as well, in case you were interested in finally investing in that Nintendo Switch.
3. Possibly time for a new companion?- Been wavering about making the commitment to adopt a furry friend? At 30 East, our pet-friendly building says, “Go for it!” And with Kriser’s Natural Pet Supply and Petsmart nearby, it’s that much easier to adopt a new friend for a new place (and re-stock on their needs once they’ve joined your home!)
